100 things about me
Inspired by badabing I too am now going to put up
100 things about me

2) That means that I can soon get drunk in the U.S. as well
3) not that I’d particularly want to
4) I write because I have to. It’s essential.
5) I’m on page ten of my first novel and I think I just might get it done before I turn sixtyfour.
6) I smoke cigarettes. I like to say “fags” when I mean cigarettes.
7) It doesn’t sound good when one says: I’m outta fags. People tend to look at me in a very weird way.
8) I’m hopelessly in love with Rebekka Bakken and her music and lyrics.
9) But then, who – that has seen her perform - isn’t?
10) I have learned to live with the fact that I like boys and girls. Usually not at the same time though.
11) I’m a known fan of Great Britain. When I first got off a plane there, I knew it had the possibilty of being home to me. And it was, if only for five weeks.
12) I love the english language and annoy my surroundings by throwing english words into my sentences just because.
13) I have never been at the receiving end of as much love and affection as at the current stage in my life.
14) I have the dearest friends accompanying me.
15) I’ll be moving into my first own flat at the end of September.
16) I have a job that I actually do love.
17) I’ll start studying ‘journalism and media management’ in October.
18) 100 things about me seem to be a lot when I’m still holding at number 18.
19) Nineteen.
20) I love to go to IKEA or flip through the catalogue.
21) When I’m really depressed I sometimes start to paint.
22) I used to play the bassoon.
23) I used to watch TV a lot but now I only do so when something really interesting is on.
24) I’ve helped organise the GLBT pride parade.
25) I’m hooked on “The L Word” and am desperately waiting for the second season to start.
26) When someone says: Send in the Clowns – they usually mean me, myself and I.
27) I have a tendency to instinctively feel what’s bothering people.
28) I can cheer them up.
29) I can be there for them.
30) And I’ve been allowed to look into a handful of people’s hearts.
31) What I’ve seen has sometimes shocked me, sometimes tied me even closer to them.
32) I might have been an empath in my past life, if I’d decide to believe in past lives.
33) I can be pretty full of myself.
34) I can be very shy - even if only a few people believe that.
35) I’m smoking far too many packets of cigarettes a day at the moment.
36) I want to cut that down as soon as possible.
37) I’m right in the middle of falling in love.
38) Lately, in spite of all the luck I’ve had in my life, I have been pretty melancholic.
39) Melancholy makes me write even more.
40) I consider myself to be pretty open minded.
41) I have learned to know that I am pretty.
42) If I love I do it with 100%.
43) I’m convinced that there are a million different kinds of love.
44) I’m also convinced that one can love two people in a similar way at the same time.
45) I thought that I didn’t do relationships anymore.
46) I seem to have ended up in a relationship lately.
47) My life has turned 180 degrees on all levels over the last three weeks.
48) I’m trying to cope with all the changes.
49) I’m head over heels but happy most of the time.
50) Fifty. Turning point. This doesn’t seem to be so difficult after all.
51) I’ve accepted the idea, that at some point in my life I will have to travel far to stay in touch with my closest friends.
52) I’m taking a liking to the idea that they will have to come to England, New York or Portugal to visit me.
53) I will work hard to get there – wherever there may exactly be.
54) I just had to think of the song “May it be” by Enya – the one that is in Lord of the Rings.
55) And now I remembered that I read all three volumes of LotR in only two weeks, because I definitely needed a refuge back then.
56) But I have started The Hobbit three times without finishing it and have been stuck on page 100 of Silmarillion for almost over a year now.
57) I like to read.
58) The last book I properly read was by Cees Noteboom.
59) The last book I flipped through again after I don’t know how much time was Jonathan Franzen’s “The Corrections”, because a friend told me about the lesbian storyline that I couldn’t remember at all.
60) I’m pretty much addicted to coffee.
61) I like my food.
62) Which is a reason for me not looking like Twiggy but rather like taken from the middle of a Rubens picture.
63) OK, I’m not THAT much, I guess I’m just... uhm... me.
64) And I lost some weight in the last couple of weeks.
65) I have not the slightest clue how I did that.
66) I am an only child.
67) But I have a sister.
68) And I used to have another one, but we lost each other on the way. Actually I like to think that she lost me.
69) And I have very good reasons for thinking that.
70) It doesn’t hurt anymore, and I can still love Rebekka Bakken very much.
71) I love to go to our drunk wine evenings where we most probably start singing “I’ve never been to me”
72) The light today is very weird and poetic and melancholic.
73) I like the word ‘and’.
74) I’ve lost a lot of friends in my life.
75) I have found better ones.
76) I have a dog.
77) I don’t have a doe, a deer, a female deer... which brings me to a new topic:
78) I love Ellen DeGeneres and - among other things she’s done - her daily monologues.
79) Anne Heche is a pain in the arse.
80) Chloe Sevigny is much hotter as Amy than she is as Lana Tisdale.
81) I’ve written stuff on my wall and have put my handprints up there.
82) I love going to the movies
83) I’m probably not young enough and not old enough to be hooked on Harry Potter – but I am.
84) I give far too much weight to song lyrics if I like them.
85) I can lose myself in music.
86) And I can lose myself in words.
87) I like writing letters – but only to certain people in my life.
88) Namely to those, who are very near to me although they might be very far away physically.
89) I have only ten to go.
90) I like blogging, because it’s a very comfortable way for being self-centered.
91) For some weird reasons I happen to like sunsets so much that I took about 100 pictures of one/some.
92) I like getting into the car, turning up the volume on some music I like a lot, and driving somewhere. It’s one of the things that calms me down.
93) One other thing is sitting on my window pane, listening to music and having a cigarette.
94) Yoga didn’t work for me.
95) I like doing sports but I don’t really do them very often.
96) I like poetry.
97) There’s barely something more beautiful than reading your own poems to each other with a very good friend.
98) I think Rebekka Bakken is very right saying: Living is only what runs through an open heart / living is letting go.
99) I think that my girl is weird on the phone out of principle and not out of any particular reason.
100) The last three statements have really nothing to do with each other. And now I’m on a hundred, about to stop and off to grab something to eat.
