money makes the world go around

I just realised that I'm pretty broke. I have about 100 Euro left and no idea when (and how big) the next paycheck will roll in.

be seeing you
L.

ich will auch mitmachen beim groß geld verdienen. da ich unter der 100 EURO Kontogrenze bin, finde ich sollte ich automatisch aufgenommen werden in eure pläne.

Huh?

omg. I laughed for about 5 minutes straight (sitting in my office with no one around I wanna add) about your "huh?" it just looked so small and lost in a far away world there below the very long foreign language posts...

btw, you just witnessed two german speakers/writers...

that was way cute, shaz :) and I officially apologise for my intercultural-communication inhibiting readers ;)

No worries McC and definitely no need to apologize. It's your native tongue! I've always been slightly envious of people who can speak more than one language. I've tried to learn Spanish since M is from Puerto Rico, but all I can manage is: Donde' este el banyo por favor?

I hope you find some solutions to your financial situation soon. I'd send you some money, but the US dollar is only worth 1/3 of the Euro right now, so it wouldn't even help you! LOL

hear that? she's giving out money...for free!! we need to remember that when the atm will cease giving us these little colorful pieces of paper...

oh and btw, the banyo sentence is really useful sometimes and I'm quite sure you know a couple more phrases like that...me personally I hated spanish in school. three years of los adventures de paco and basically all I remember is paco a dejado de fumar and despues no diga que no le hemos advertido or something like that. don't ask me why I remember those two sentences...

I had the same thought as shazza after I saw those first two comments. Good thing I have Babelfish. :) I'm a Spanish speaker, but I want to learn another language. French or Italian, maybe.

Yeah, we Americans have a hard enough time talking American good!

As for me, I'm pretty decent at Spanish, although I forget a lot since I don't have anyone to chat with. My wife and I trying to learn Finnish, which is proving interesting, as Finnish is similar to basically nothing. The book's suggestion for learning vocabulary is to "just memorize it."

That is really cool. I've been to Finland on a EU-sponsored school exchange program, so we were doing language courses before we left for there. I remember people telling me it's similar to Hungarian, but that's just bullshit. I speak Hungarian, yet the Finnish students and I could identify only about 7 word which maybe, eventually could have some day in the past derived from the same common root.

All I remember from the language course is: sata saunasanikin. I just realised I have no clue how to write that. but basically it means "It rains in my sauna too." Yeah, see, talk about unusable language knowledge ;)

also counting to 19 (that's as far as I get) in Finnish is really funny. I should finally learn that language. And I've always wanted to learn Dutch and maybe Hebrew. And maybe also Swedish. Damn, I love languages...
